Legends of Slots
Legends of Slots sounds like one thing and turns out to be another. It's a gentle casual puzzle built around spinning reels of illustrated symbols, where your job is lining up little heroes, lanterns and runes to clear objectives and push a soft fantasy story forward. The whole thing is driven by a tap-to-spin rhythm, and there's a satisfying click to the animation every time a row locks into place.
What won me over was the presentation. Each symbol is a tiny watercolour drawing, and as you progress new chapters introduce fresh art sets tied to different regions of the map. The controls are about as simple as they come: one thumb, one tap, occasional taps to hold a reel in place before the next turn. It's the kind of game you play with half your attention while a kettle boils.
It's not deep, and it won't ask much of you, but it never pretends otherwise. A few light progression systems keep you unlocking new backdrops and story beats, and the soundtrack is a lovely loop of plucked strings. For a wind-down game before sleep, it does exactly its job.
What we liked
- Gorgeous hand-painted symbol art
- One-thumb controls that work anywhere
